    theologians say
    no ‘Physical Figure’
    needing annual check-ups
    at the doctor’s
 
God created man
 
     without passion or parts
     (where's the fun in sire?)
     molding laywomen
     from claymen
     presiding over his handiwork
     gone-to-hell
     like a cowboy burning cowpies
     before taking a revolver
     to his temple
 
God worked a week
 
    just forty hours
    clocked in a day of rest
    and then on to retirement
    whilst he had his health
    to travel and sightsee
 
God’s done his part

    his power borrowed
    by prophet-gynecologists
    staring down the stirrups
    of futurity
    like rattling teeth
    thirstily awaiting
    a baby boom
    and nothing to report
